Fantastical Friday: Handfasting Recap

Fantastical FridayDragon clip art attribution link

Well, it finally happened. Our handfasting went rather well, the actual ceremony was pretty simple & not very long. Given that I went on & on about this event, I thought you all might enjoy some of the video that was captured, as you will be able to clearly tell, we can be pretty silly. Seems we had some sound issues when live streaming to facebook & the teenager I put in charge of my phone didn’t finalize the one she captured, so it remains silent. She was also a terrible camera person & the phone flips many, many times, enough to make you dizzy. Needless to say, I’m not sharing that video, if you’re interested it is on my personal facebook page (my name is on my about page & I am totally findable on fb with it). I captured my sister’s stream (that was an adventure, trying to get fb to let me download it, lol), my man did a few audio edits on the longer handfasting video so you can actually hear him talking, though it was deemed unnecessary with the comical cake video as the best part of the joke is seen clearly through his expression & body language. The video quality isn’t super high, so you can’t really tell that my earrings are dangling spiders, or that there is a spider dangling from the web necklace I’m wearing, still all in all I think it turned out pretty well. I’m also including a few stills pulled from the vids, not that you can see everything clearly, but still, gives me an image to feature. 😉 I hope you’re all having a blessed day! ❤

Fantastical Friday: Costume Reveal

Fantastical FridayDragon clip art attribution link

Well, this is a long time in coming, we’ve had these costumes for months now. We decided, a while back, to go with a theme for both of our costumes & we considered several ideas along those lines. In the end we decided to go with the sorcerer/sorceress thing. Back when we were making these selections I was briefly an affiliate with Halloweencostumes.com, who despite inviting me into their program dropped me in about a week, so that’s where we did our shopping. I’ve seen my robes on many different sites so if you like it, you can find it almost anywhere, lol. If all goes as planned for the handfasting it will be live streamed on facebook from my personal page (if you look at my about page, my name is there, so I am findable), but you don’t have to follow me to see it, should you want to watch, as the vid will be reshared here, likely next Friday. With today’s post I didn’t find the names or prices of the items pictured, as every site out there varies, but we did get ours from the aforementioned site so the pic gives credit to them. 😉 As a side note, we never had any intention of going with the concept ridiculous beard shown in the shop pic of my man’s robes, lol.

Fantastical Friday: Goth Wedding Decor

Fantastical FridayDragon clip art attribution link

t’s natural that I would continue to muse on this topic, lol. Some of these beautiful pieces, from Amazon, I will not be able to order in time, with so much being funneled into the big day & the remodel of the room that is to be ours. These are so great that I will likely have to make some later orders for various reasons. I especially love the little wooden coffins & think it might be fun to paint them, perhaps using them as pencil boxes & cute gifts (okay, you probably already knew I was weird, LOL). The candle stand, candelabra & candlesticks are also striking my fancy a LOT so they are also among my wishlist. I think I will have to get one of those lanterns, it’s just plain awesome & in my colors too. So here’s a list of things that would be amazing to have for a goth wedding.

Bridal Thoughts

Some of the most beautiful pieces to adorn the self or to hold stuff with are associated with weddings, for this reason I thought I would showcase some of those more affordable lovelies. I was browsing around Charming Charlie & noticed some amazing treasures, a few of which I am sharing with you in this post.

There are moments in life when a girl just needs to wear a crown. 😀 Check out these rhinestone stunners, the last one also uses faux pearl. You’ll not only feel radiant but you’ll look it as well!
Hair

1) Amaris Halo Bridal Crown ($25)
2) Natasia Bride Headband ($30)
3) Queen of Pearls Tiara ($30)

I found a fabulous collection of earrings too. The rhinestones are so sparkly! I love these 3 especially. ❤

Earrings 1) Double Rose Studs ($10)
2) Oyster Stone Dangles ($15)
3) Winter Elegance Earrings ($15)

What’s a special occasion without affordable faux pearls? I was particularly impressed with these glamorous treasures. The third of the picks has 2 different was it can be worn for distinctive necklines, it can also be worn as a wrap bracelet. Have to love a piece with versatility.

Necklaces 1) 48″ Single-Strand Pearl Necklace ($15)
2) Blissful Marquise Necklace ($18)
3) Lily Shimmer Convertible Necklace ($22)

Of course we all need a stylish place to keep up with our little essentials too. These charming handbags coordinate well with shimmering occasion wear. I’m especially partial to the rose pouch. ❤

Handbags 1) Tessa Satin Bow Clutch ($9.99)
2) Vienna Ruffle Clutch ($13.99)
3) Zayden Rose Pouch ($22)

More lovely faux pearls for the wrists. These are wonderful whether you’re the one in white or not this time. Still feeling the love for glittering rhinestones too. 😀

Bracelets 1) Ceremony Pearl Bracelet ($13)
2) Pearl Treasure Clasp Bracelet ($15)
3) Secret Garden Bracelet ($22)

If there has been a theme to this post it’s marvelous rhinestones & faux pearls. Naturally I continued the trend all the way to the hands. These beauties are quite remarkable for any special day or event.

Rings 1) Pearl and Pebble Ring ($10)
2) Infinite Romance Ring ($10)
3) Heavenly Sparkle Ring ($13)
